Business owners are now better prepared for the sale of their business thanks to an informative networking session in the heart of the Derby community.
Professionals from across the region attended the ‘Oven Ready Your Business’ event at The Cotton Shed, Derby on Tuesday 21st January 2020.
The breakfast event, which targeted business owners and shareholders who are potentially looking to sell their business or step aside from its day-to-day running, was co-hosted by Dains Accountants, Loates HR Consultancy and Simpsons Solicitors.
Delegates enjoyed breakfast on arrival before listening to speakers from all three businesses who covered different aspects of the business sale process from a Law, Accountancy and HR stance.
Lauren Bailey from Simpsons Solicitors spoke about business wills and dealing with inheritance tax before Jenny Moore from Dains Accountants focused on getting ready to sell a business, valuations and exploring different options.
Sarah Loates from Loates HR Consultancy then explored the 12 key steps that businesses should have in place to facilitate their business exit.
After the presentations, an ‘Ask the Expert’ panel discussion took place covering a wide variety of topics before there was an opportunity for businesses to network.
Jenny Moore, Dains Corporate Finance Director, said: “This was a great opportunity to speakto members of the Derby business community about the different factors they should consider if they are thinking of selling or stepping away from their business.
“The thought-provoking session brought together like-minded business professionals in a relaxed setting.”
During her talk Jenny also highlighted the importance of preparation for a business sale and getting the right team in place before stepping aside.
Jenny added: “As a joint venture between ourselves, Simpsons Solicitors and Loates HR Consultancy, professionals were, hopefully, able to gain all the relevant information they needed to help them progress with a business sale.”
