Birmingham’s first independent wellness festival is coming and it’s taking over one of the city’s most iconic venues

The organisers’ vision for the inaugural OneRetreat Wellness at Highbury Hall

OneRetreat Wellness will take over Highbury Hall on Saturday 6 June 2026, transforming one of the city’s most beloved Victorian landmarks into a full-day destination for movement, recovery, connection, and rest.

With tickets starting from £25 (plus a booking fee), OneRetreat Wellness has been deliberately designed not to feel like a typical wellness event. No intimidating line-ups or London price tags, Birmingham’s first independent wellness festival is set to be an accessible and genuinely transformative day for anyone who wants to feel better than when they walked in.

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi, curious beginner, or someone who simply can’t remember the last time they properly switched off: this event is for you. It will be spread across the hall’s grand interiors and sweeping grounds, bringing together more than 40 of the region’s brightest wellness practitioners.

The day-long programme will include yoga and pilates on the lawn; breathwork and sound baths; saunas, ice baths and contrast therapies; Tai Chi and calisthenics; and dance, fitness and run clubs. There will be treatment rooms and holistic therapies on offer, as well as health food traders and holistic markets.

Live music and DJs will set the tone for the day, and for parents keen to get involved, there will also be a free on-site crèche, provided by Mortimer Nannies.

OneRetreat Wellness will also welcome keynote talks and expert-led workshops by leading practitioners including Dr Lalitaa Suglani (IMD Breathwork), Krishna Ruparelia (Unshakable Resilience), Manoj Koeri (Manoj Collective), Sarah Kirk (The Mummy PT), Sophie Rey (Nature-Led Somatics), and many more.

Sam Carter-Smith, co-founder of OneRetreat Wellness, said:  “In the past five years the UK wellness scene has exploded, but London has remained the main destination for large-scale events. We wanted to change that! When we started planning the festival, we simply wanted to give people a day that sends them home feeling better than when they arrived. We never dreamed we’d end up working with 40 of the region’s brightest practitioners and taking over one of the city’s most beloved venues in the process.

Alex Hyde, co-founder Sam Carter-Smith, added:  “This event has been a long time coming. I cannot wait to finally open our doors to a day that is going to be extremely special. Highbury Hall is steeped in history, having been home to Joseph Chamberlain. It is now one of Birmingham’s most cherished heritage venues and provides a setting that is, quite simply, unlike anything else the city’s events scene has to offer!”

Tickets for OneRetreat Wellness are available now from £25 at www.oneretreatwellness.co.uk/tickets. The event is proudly supported by Living Well UK through its community cafés, grounded.
