Birmingham coach company invests in Totalkare mobile brake tester for its Birmingham workshop

A family-run Birmingham coach business has invested in Totalkare’s lifting and testing equipment to help it service its expanding fleet.

Endeavour Coaches, which celebrates its 40th anniversary next year, offers a range of vehicles to suit day trips, educational transport, airport transfers and accessible travel for disabled people.

The firm’s skilled in-house mechanics maintain its 20-strong fleet and also deliver servicing and maintenance contracts to other customers, meaning access to reliable in-house heavy-duty workshop solutions are vitally important.

With this in mind, it recently added a Totalkare mobile brake tester to its workshop, which provides a simple solution for those wishing to save expenditure by bringing their brake testing in-house.

There is no need for groundworks for this specific GEA-approved solution and the product is suitable for testing vehicles up to a maximum axle load of 20,000kg.

The mobile brake tester’s design is simple, yet strong and flexible and can be placed on a variety of surfaces. A handheld tablet communicates with the brake tester, allowing for easy operation and control from the driver’s seat.

Sean Mitchell, Managing Director at Endeavour Coaches, said: “Our relationship with Totalkare spans many years so we knew we would go straight to the company when the need for an in-house brake tester arose.

“The communication and service we received has been excellent throughout the purchase and installation. There’s little doubt the investment we have made will deliver an increase in workshop productivity, allowing us to better service our customers in the process.”

George Georgiou, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare, added his support: “This is the first time we have been able to offer non-lifting equipment and the response from clients has been fantastic. Our testing equipment is high quality and extremely versatile and the brake tester will help Endeavour Coaches achieve new efficiencies and a host of cost savings.”

Totalkare had already worked with Endeavour in the supply of its T8AC mobile column lifts, which provide a 7,500kg lifting capacity per column. With its set of four, the company can safely lift heavy vehicles up to a total of 30,000kg.

They also provide complete flexibility and manoeuvrability within the workplace, so a fixed lifting position is not required, whilst the hydraulic lifts are easily connected by cables and can be controlled from any column.
