Beverley Travel Group has opened its fourth high street travel agency, investing in Beverley’s historic North Bar area and reinforcing its commitment to local communities at a time when many retailers are stepping back from the high street.

Beverley Travel Group has opened a new retail travel agency in Beverley, marking its fourth high street location and its second store in the town. The latest branch officially opened on Wednesday 4 February in Beverley’s historic North Bar area.

The opening represents a further investment in the high street at a time when many retailers are facing increasing pressure and vacancy rates. For Beverley Travel Group, the decision reflects continued customer demand and strong local support across its East Yorkshire locations.

The new store follows a record-breaking January for the group, with bookings and client numbers increasing year-on-year compared with January 2025. Growth has been seen across all stores, alongside strong performance from its Travel Partner network.

Kelly Cheesman, Director at Beverley Travel Group, said: “People still question whether customers want to book with travel agents, but our results speak for themselves. Clients are booking earlier, spending more thoughtfully, and really valuing expert advice. That’s given us the confidence to keep investing in the high street.”

The North Bar store has opened with a small, experienced team and offers a more appointment-led service, with a focus on cruises, tailor-made travel, touring and experience-led holidays. The opening has also created additional local jobs, further supporting the town centre economy.

Cheesman added: “Beverley has been incredibly supportive of us. Opening a second shop here is about capacity, creating jobs, and committing long-term to the town – not just chasing short-term growth. North Bar has been a labour of love and is our most historic store yet.”

The group also operates travel agencies in Market Weighton and Hedon, with all locations continuing to perform strongly. While further expansion remains part of the long-term plan, the focus remains on opening the right shops in the right places.
