Bevan Brittan supports Birmingham job interview charity with generous donation

National UK law firm Bevan Brittan has donated five boxes of formal work clothes to Birmingham charity Suited for Success. Team members from the Edmund Street-based law firm, which employs over 70 people in its Birmingham office, visited the charity last week to make the donation.

Suited for Success provides free interview clothes to unemployed men and women who have a guaranteed job interview, but are unable to afford the interview attire. The charity aims to tackle the barriers unemployed people in the city face on their journey to employment, targeting groups including the long-term unemployed, ex-offenders, ex-forces, back-to-work mums and the homeless.

Commenting on the donation, Bevan Brittan’s Birmingham Community Engagement lead, Rebecca Pendlebury, said: “We are so pleased to be supporting a truly inspiring local cause. For those who have been unfortunate enough to find themselves out of work for some time, it can be incredibly difficult to find a job and this is harder still if they do not have suitable clothing to wear to an interview. We hope the five boxes full of clothes our team donated will help those in need of work take the next step towards securing a job.

“This donation is part of our broader community engagement work in the Midlands, which is driven by our dedicated Birmingham team. In December, we gave new sleeping bags and boxes full of confectionary and warm clothing to local charity initiative ‘Bags for Brummies’, giving those without a home vital resources during the coldest time of the year. We also donated £5,000 to TOFS (Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula Support) at Christmas, a Midlands charity supporting those born unable to swallow.

“As a firm, we continue to do all we can to make a difference to the communities we work in by playing an active role in supporting local charities.”
