Bespoke haulier Cargo Express expand fleet to better support effective logistic transport services

Birmingham and Telford based haulier Cargo Express recently welcomed a trio of new vehicles to their growing fleet to ensure a diverse fleet that is better prepared to support every client delivery requirement.

A diverse fleet allows them to offer a more bespoke and cost-effective logistics service, as they can meet a wide range of transport requirements – from delivering different types of goods and varying quantities to avoiding extra costs due to inefficient utilisation.

The haulier has expanded its smaller delivery vehicle fleet by two small curtain siders and a new medium wheel-based van, adding to their overall fleet offering, and helping to better support the transport of light goods.

Most of their larger transport vehicles are curtain-sided trucks, which adds to the fleet diversity and allows for greater loading flexibility when moving goods, from quick access or easy removal of goods to supporting easy loading of oddly shaped freight.

Alternatively, with a variety of large trailers available, including their EU mega trailer and truck-mounted forklift trailer, they can easily deliver large quantities of heavy goods, without delay, to any location across the UK, Europe and beyond – including those without a forklift truck on site.

Diversification of the bespoke haulier’s fleet was prompted by the pandemic, Brexit and the fuel and vehicle shortage and its heavy impact on the logistics industry.

As Operation Director Joseph O’Reilly explained: “Logistics vehicles are becoming increasingly difficult to come by, with a shortage of vehicles caused by reduced production as a result of the microchip shortage. We decided to order our additional vehicles early and in advance to ensure that we always have the variety in our fleet and the appropriate numbers of vehicles to meet every client’s requirement.”
