Mary Trehy has joined London Vet Specialists ahead of its move to biggest animal referral centre in London later this year
A leading London animal hospital in Belsize Park has made a senior appointment ahead of its move to a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Hammersmith later this year.
Mary Trehy has joined Linnaeus-owned London Vet Specialists (LVS) as internal medicine specialist and head of quality and clinical governance.
Mary believes it is an exciting time to join LVS as the team prepares to move into its new £8 million purpose-built animal hospital this year.
She said: “I’m looking forward to working at a new and growing animal hospital and having input into development of the medicine service we offer.
“I’m also keen to further build the LVS Quality Team and see the improvements we are able to make through this,” added Mary, who graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2009.
Mary’s new responsibilities include working as part of the internal medicine team and implementing quality improvement initiatives at the current LVS hospital and as it prepares to move to the new site.
She added: “I am keen to build a strong base of happy and engaged owners as well as referring vets at the new site.”
LVS’ new animal hospital is 12,000 sq ft and set to be the biggest veterinary referral centre within the M25.
The major move for LVS will also see its specialist-led team significantly expand, in turn enabling increased capacity to accept more referral cases from vet practitioners in and around the capital.
Meanwhile, Mary’s career includes a rotating internship at Davies Veterinary Specialists and being an ECVIM diplomate at North Downs Specialist Referrals (NDSR), both owned by Linnaeus. She has also completed a medicine residency at the University of Liverpool.
Outside of work, Mary enjoys the great outdoors with her family, including cocker spaniel Lola, as well as indoor climbing and cycling.
LVS is a multidisciplinary veterinary referral facility which offers expert care in anaesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, ophthalmology and soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.
