Award winning young artist raises money to save endangered animals

Jennifer Starnes

Berkshire-based artist Jennifer Starnes uses her awe-inspiring artwork to raise money for endangered animals.

This interest in conservation began when she was awarded as a finalist in the renowned art competition ‘Sketch For Survival 2022’, with her drawing titled ‘Hope’, depicting a sumatran orangutan.

Hosted by ‘Explorers against Extinction’, this initiative raises awareness for endangered animals by auctioning artwork with the proceeds going to support conservation projects worldwide.

Following an exhibition tour across the UK, her original drawing sold at auction for £380, with 100% of the proceeds going to help save endangered animals.

She has since released a limited edition fine art print of the orangutan drawing to raise further funds, with 10% of the sales going to animal charities.

In 2023, she continued her fundraising efforts, being awarded as a semi-finalist in ‘Sketch for Survival 2023’ out of 4000 global entries with her painting of macaque monkeys. The artwork titled ‘Our Home’ is currently on sale with the proceeds going to charity.

Theo Paphitis recognised Jennifer’s dedication to sustainability, awarding her as a ‘Small Business Sunday’ winner in October 2022. Jennifer comments ‘it was a great achievement and inspiration to meet Theo and have the opportunity to connect with other dedicated business owners. I’m excited to share the journey of my art career”.

Jennifer wishes to continue her work with conservation charities to raise awareness and funds for endangered animals. She welcomes enquiries for bespoke commissions of pets and wildlife.
