A family-run venture is celebrating a landmark anniversary with an exciting revelation that will help another business follow in its successful footsteps

A husband-and-wife team is celebrating an impressive milestone at the helm of a successful Midland business with an exciting revelation.

When Creative Director Warwick Kay launched Adventure Graphics, a graphic and website design business, 20 years ago, his aim was to strike a better work-life balance.

Together with his wife, Penny, by his side as the firm’s Business and Projects Manager, he’s turned that vision into a successful family-run Sutton Coldfield-based venture.

And, while not all married couples could pull off working side-by-side, this dynamic duo has done it with flying colours.

The pair have not only expanded Adventure Graphics into a four-strong team, but they have also secured more than 90 five-star reviews and worked with over 1,000 clients from across the Midlands and beyond.

So what’s the secret of their enduring success?

While technology and design trends have inevitably evolved over the years, the couple, who have three children, have kept a people-centred approach at the forefront, something which they firmly believe has been key to building a business that has stood the test of time.

“Be authentic and don’t be afraid to stand out”.

The couple’s advice to others considering starting their own business is simple: be patient, stay authentic, and don’t be afraid to recognise your own value and to stand out from the madding crowd.

Warwick said: “Starting Adventure Graphics was not just about running our own business, it was also about creating a life that worked for our family.

“Twenty years later, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and we’re genuinely grateful to every person who has been part of the journey.”

Echoing Warwick’s sentiment, Penny said: “We’ve had challenges like everyone else, but we have always believed in being honest, supporting people, and building genuine relationships.

“That’s what has helped us to grow. We’ve also learned that pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone is where growth happens.”

Exciting revelation to help others follow in their successful footsteps.

As well as understanding the challenges of running a business while juggling the demands of parenting, their expertise in digital design means they understand first-hand the importance of having a strong online presence to support business growth.

That’s why, to mark their milestone anniversary, the couple is giving something back to the business community, which they are proud to be a part of.

They are running a competition to win a free bespoke website, that’s worth £3,500, to help another venture to follow in their footsteps by boosting its online visibility. Entries will close on August 31, 2026, and you can enter here.
