The unique bond between father and son has brought a new personal touch to the high-stakes world of biohazard remediation at a Northamptonshire based business.
George Conway and his son Kyle have joined forces at Desborough-based Specialist Remediation Solutions (SRS), displaying a masterclass in family teamwork.
George joined SRS in January 2025, through a connection to managing director Stephen Booth who he had previously worked with at another specialist cleaning firm. Kyle followed in his footsteps earlier this year.
“It is a positive experience,” said George, who is a senior site supervisor at SRS. “I can support Kyle, monitor his development and help him build his knowledge and confidence within the industry.”
Kyle added: “We have a good working relationship. We know when we can enjoy ourselves, but we also understand when it is time to be serious and focus on completing the work safely and professionally.
“Seeing my dad’s experience within the industry encouraged me to follow a similar career path and develop my own skills. I appreciate the financial opportunities the industry provides, as well as the chance to build a long-term career.”
George, who has two other children and a young granddaughter, has always enjoyed the variety of work in the industry and now hopes Kyle will thrive within the sector.
He said: “My ambition is for Kyle to continue developing his knowledge, skills and experience so that he can progress within the industry as far as he would like to go.”
Managing director Stephen Booth said: “It is really special for George and Kyle to work together and for Kyle to learn the tricks of the trade from his father, who is a fantastic example of best practice.
