Glasgow-based book community Bookface is inviting film lovers to gather their coven for an exclusive private screening of Practical Magic 2, starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
The sequel arrives nearly 30 years after the original film introduced audiences to the Owens sisters, midnight margaritas and one of cinema’s most loved stories of magic, family and female friendship.
Taking place at The Grosvenor Cinema, Ashton Lane, the Bookface event will be limited to just 100 guests. Each £22 ticket includes admission to the private screening and entry into a luxury raffle featuring 60 prizes.
Bookface founder Heather Suttie said: “Practical Magic has everything Bookface members love: brilliant women, complicated families, romance, dark humour and a touch of chaos. The chance to watch the sequel together in our own private cinema was too good to resist.
“We’re turning it into a proper Bookface afternoon, with a luxury raffle offering 60 prizes. Guests can come alone, bring friends or gather their entire coven. Dressing for the occasion is strongly encouraged.”
The original Practical Magic, released in 1998 and based on Alice Hoffman’s novel, became a cult favourite. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens for the sequel.
Bookface was founded by Scottish broadcaster, publicist and producer Heather Suttie in 2020. Its community now brings together thousands of readers in Scotland and across the globe through author interviews, book swaps and special cultural events.
