A Glasgow digital agency co-founder says his straight-talking posts about marketing, AI and business have attracted more than 1.5 million views across multiple channels.
Gordon Campbell shares industry opinions with an audience of more than 16,000 LinkedIn followers while running ClickBoost with co-founder Scott Beveridge.
His posts on social media and LinkedIn have also led to coverage in national and Scottish newspapers, including the Daily Record, Daily Mail, The Telegraph and The Scotsman, according to the company.
Gordon said: “The posts that perform best tend to say something clear, useful, slightly uncomfortable or amusing. People don’t want another polished corporate opinion that says very little.”
Gordon and Scott launched ClickBoost in 2018 with no external investment. The agency now employs 12 people, serves around 55 clients and manages approximately £25 million in advertising spend annually, according to company figures.
ClickBoost works with businesses in the UK, United States, Canada and Australia.
Its client successes include working with Scottish golf retailer Affordable Golf as its online revenue increased from £2 million to £30 million. The result is supported by a testimonial from the retailer’s digital marketer.
Gordon added: “Growing up, I saw work and starting a business as ways to escape poverty. I wanted to build a company where people could create careers and have a genuine voice.
“Businesses can spend millions on advertising without knowing if it generated a single extra sale. Clicks and impressions might look good in a report, but sales are what matter.”
ClickBoost now plans to recruit more creative talent, expand its international work and secure further household-name clients.
