Aces High is shuffling up competitive socialising, delivering premium team building experiences with a twist.
Aces High is transforming how L&D can look in the workplace, by replacing long and disengaging presentations (that no one is really listening to) with immersive strategic gameplay: poker.
Forget bluff and bravado. Poker is a powerful tool for self-awareness and helps develop essential skills for the world of work, across industries like law, finance and tech. Aces High helps to uncover your body’s stress response: fight, flight or freeze, which directly relates to raise, fold or call. Understanding your default behaviours and practicing strategic gameplay, can help you make smarter choices in high-stakes moments. Poker is a microcosm of how we show up in the real world, offering real-time reflection and powerful insights.
Aces High was founded by Jo Living, who discovered, whilst pregnant in a smoky Moroccan casino, that poker could be used as a powerful tool in the business world. After winning her first international poker tournament, Jo began teaching her female friends how to play, and they reported back how poker helped them become more confident and assertive at work. Aces High grew into the strategy-led, premium corporate experience it is today, endorsed by Richard Branson and featured in the Financial Times, BBC and CBS News, reaching over 15 million viewers.
Jo said “ Aces High was born out of personal experience – seeing first hand how poker strategy helped me raise investment and navigate business risk. Just 1 year in, we have top investment managers asking us how they can use poker strategy to improve portfolio returns, and international law firms using Aces High to train for negotiations. We’ve even received personal endorsement from Richard Branson!”
By removing the bravado and bluff, Jo harnessed the psychology and strategy behind poker. Aces High workshops are safe, inclusive and always zero-gambling.
