Book lovers in Glasgow are set for a standout summer evening as Bookface brings its much-loved Sip & Swap series back to the city — this time with global bestselling author Lisa Jewell.

Taking place on Wednesday 1 July 2026 at Berlinkys, from 5.30-8.30pm the Bookface Sip & Swap event promises a relaxed, sociable night built around great books, conversation and community. Guests will enjoy an intimate live conversation with Lisa Jewell, followed by a Q&A, giving readers the chance to hear directly from one of the most successful voices in contemporary fiction. Each ticket also includes a copy of her latest novel It Could Have Been Her.

Known for her gripping, character-driven novels, Lisa Jewell has sold millions of copies worldwide and built a loyal readership drawn to her twist-filled storytelling and emotional depth.

The evening will also feature Bookface’s signature book swap, a highlight of every event with hundreds of titles available to browse and exchange. Guests are invited to bring up to four books, though it’s equally open to those who simply want to come along for the atmosphere, author chat and a glass of fizz.

Founded by broadcaster and publicist Heather Suttie, Bookface has grown into a thriving community of more than 15,000 readers, hosting over 85 sold-out events across Scotland. The Sip & Swap series has welcomed some of the biggest names in publishing including Heather Morris, Val McDermid, Tom Newlands, Sophie Gravia, Catherine Newman,  John Niven and many more, offering a fresh, informal alternative to traditional literary events.

Each ticket includes entry to the event, a drink on arrival and access to the author conversation, Q&A and book swap and a copy of It Could Have Been Her, making it as much a social night out as a literary one.

With previous events regularly selling out, early booking is strongly advised.
