NW Event Solutions in Lichfield City Centre is delighted to unveil its support for an event focused on local history, insight, and storytelling.
The event, entitled “Suffragettes of Lichfield: An Historical Talk”, will be held on Monday, February 24th, at 7pm, in the venue’s spacious meeting room in Wade Street, Lichfield.
Renowned local historian Jono Oates will deliver the illustrated 45-minute talk about the powerful story of the Suffragette movement, with a special focus on its impact in Lichfield.
NW Solutions’ CEO Neil Wagstaff said: “We are looking forward to hosting this fascinating journey into the past!
“Jono, who is a well-known local historian, tour guide, author, and Lichfield Radio’s historical roving reporter, will chart the long and often turbulent road to Votes for Women in February 1918, led by pivotal figures, such as Millicent Fawcett and Emmeline Pankhurst.
“Crucially for Lichfield, Jono will also shine a light on the women of the city who played a part in this historic movement, examining how the extension of the vote changed the political and social fabric of Lichfield in lasting ways.
“This is an ideal event for anyone interested in history, politics, social change, or local heritage.”
