Leading experts announced for national obesity conference series aimed at empowering healthcare professionals

The Obesity & Weight Management Alliance is delighted to unveil the speaker line-up and agenda for its 2026 national conference series – an essential event for healthcare professionals committed to advancing obesity care.

Chaired by Professor Melanie Davies CBE, an internationally recognised leader in diabetes and weight management research, the free-to-attend conferences will bring together a distinguished faculty of experts.

Speakers include Professor Alex Miras, Dr Dimitris Papamargaritis, Professor Wasim Hanif, Dr Louisa Herring and Ken Clare – all highly respected voices driving innovation in obesity and metabolic health.

Created to help healthcare professionals deepen their knowledge, stay current with the latest developments and enhance the support they provide to individuals living with obesity, the conferences will explore a range of critical topics. These include remission in type 2 diabetes, obesity services in primary care, recent evidence and trial highlights, obesity care in ethnic communities and lifestyle interventions.

For the first time, the series will be hosted across three major UK locations, expanding access to high-quality obesity education and professional networking.

Conference dates and venues:

  • Thursday 12 March – London Suite, Mercure London Earls Court, London.
  • Wednesday 18 March – The Midland Hotel, Manchester.
  • Friday 27 March – The National Conference Centre, Birmingham.

The events provides free CPD-accredited education ensuring healthcare professionals stay updated with evolving best practice, clinical data and service innovations.
