George Dyer (from Erdington) and Ewan Jones (from Derby) previously ran a sports equipment brand which was devastatingly affected by the COVID pandemic.
Making protective equipment for contact sports, social distancing meant that demand for their products literally stopped overnight.
Local entrepreneur, George Dyer, said: “In the initial panic at the start of lockdown, we were burnt out, irritable and exhausted.
Our business was devastatingly affected, and we hit rock-bottom.”
With both the entrepreneurs having babies on the way, George and Ewan knew they had to pivot quickly, so worked tirelessly towards their new venture, Echor, which is a brand that specialises in sleep products.
During their years growing a previous business together, the founders became obsessed with the enhancing benefits of a good night’s sleep.
“We would test out nap periods throughout the day, log our sleep and energy cycles and experiment with aromatherapy, sleep hygiene and our bedroom environments.
One thing was evident to us: after a goodnight’s sleep we achieved more the following day, we were less irritable and overall, we were happier.”
Their mantra of “Tomorrow Starts Tonight” embodies their belief that good quality sleep is paramount to living a healthy and happy life.
The brand has been an instant success with Love Island contestant/NHS hero, Dr Alex George, claiming to be a big fan of the brand.
