About the Founder:
The British Pink Clay Mask is the first product to come from my new company, Perl Cosmetics, which I launched shortly after losing my job in May 2020 due to the pandemic.
Rather than seeing my job loss as a setback I’ve seen it as an opportunity to allow me to turn my passion into a business – and, for me, that’s always been skincare.
Having worked as a beauty advisor for Benefit and completed a degree in Biology, the science behind glowing skin has forever been something that has fascinated me.
Working in a lab is second nature to me, so, in May 2020, I decided to do some research and bring my vision to life, turning my two passions – skincare and science – into a career.
Currently, Perl Cosmetics is a small business run from my home in Hertfordshire. We sold out our first batch of masks in 4 weeks, and recently sold out of our second (much bigger) restock. We’ve seen a huge success on TikTok growing 80,000 followers in just a few months and our hero product is quickly becoming a cult.
I formulate and hand make each mask myself in small batches. Plus, I’m also entirely self-funded, with just me running the show! I’ve taught myself everything from website creation to marketing to sourcing supplies – but I’m absolutely loving the ride.
