Former Birmingham City and International footballer, Paul Devlin has joined Midlands based construction company, RMF Group, with the aim to develop Health and Wellbeing within construction.
Devlin, who has over 15 years of experience playing professionally and working as a qualified personal trainer, has taken up the role of Health and Wellbeing Coach at RMF, to focus primarily on improving learners’ health and wellbeing and further highlight the importance of mental and physical wellbeing within the industry.
“I am looking forward to starting my role at RMF as I get to do something I’m really passionate about, with a company that shares the same values as me. My experience in football and commitment to physical and mental fitness has put me in a great position to influence and inspire learners, and give them the motivation to be the best they can. The statistics on mental health and suicide in the UK construction industry are very concerning and I want to play a key part in reducing this.”
RMF are thrilled to have Paul join their team, in Highgate, Birmingham. The company’s Managing Director, Ray McGee has explained the significance of Paul’s role at the firm:
“Paul will be a crucial part of RMF as we are always mindful of the wellbeing of our learners and want them to have the best experience possible. His career in football has not only developed his physical skills, but it has helped him learn how to deal with the mental pressures of training and maintain a positive attitude towards his goals. We want our trainees to feel supported in both their learning and their wellbeing, as it goes hand in hand.”
RMF Group is a multi-service business, providing an array of construction services, and skilled training for both construction and rail industries. They also run an effective labour supply model, which allows trainees to access various career opportunities across the country. They are dedicated to being socially inclusive and have the moral endeavour to primarily work with individuals who are underrepresented in the community.
RMF have remained busy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and have continued to provide training both online and at their 22 acre construction training site, specialising in carrying out training for rail, groundworks and plant qualifications. The construction industry is key to driving the regions post-Covid-19 economic recovery and RMF have always been proud to help up skill communities who have been seeking new career prospects.
