Gold Disc Dave hails literature as the new rock and roll as he launches a new company celebrating the love of books
Having topped the charts with thegolddisc.com, Dave Breese has turned his attention to celebrating the world of books.
Newcastle businessman Dave has launched thebookframer.com and is looking to attract both authors and bookworms looking to celebrate their love of literature.
Dave’s passion for collectables and nostalgia led him to found thegolddisc.com in 2002.
Now he’s turned his attention to the world of books – with an official launch of thebookframer.com on World Book Day, March 4, 2021.
Dave said: “We all love to celebrate landmark moments in our lives and our memories are often marked by songs or novels that we’ve loved. That idea led me to launch thegolddisc.com around 19 years ago and has now led to thebookframer.com.
“We’re looking to attract authors, publishers and the general public, basically anyone looking to celebrate their favourite book. I’ve been working on the idea behind the business for some time and we’ve been able to test it due to the success of thegolddisc.com, with publishing companies coming to us with ideas for memorabilia and gifts.
“Now we’re launching to the general public and I think there’s no better time to launch on World Book Day.”
Dave has already produced book awards for Hachette Children’s Books and the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy but, in common, with the golddisc.com, he’s aiming his new venture at multiple markets.
“Publishers come to me looking for novel presentation gifts and awards in both the music and book publishing sectors,” added Dave, “but there’s also a desire from the general public for gifts and nostalgia and the explosion in the self-publishing market, both in fiction and with business leaders becoming authors with “how to” guides.
“We can commemorate author’s books, for example, first novels, by reproducing book covers in attractive frames.
“We aim to become the leading resource for independent authors, novelists and publishers and offer a range of services, for example, to support book launches or to offer branded items to readers.
“In the 21st century, many authors have become celebrities and literature is the new rock and roll. That’s why I’ve launched thebookframer.com.”
The company’s new website, www.thebookframer.com, offers a range of gifts which include box frames, framed covers and canvas prints
Dave runs the two businesses from an office and workshop space at Brampton Sidings, Newcastle.
