Hospice ‘Just Ask’ series to support local community

Mary Stevens Hospice are hosting a series of free Zoom sessions to support their community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic it has been difficult to know what services are available to you. Mary Stevens Hospice have arranged a series of Zoom sessions, inviting their local community to join these sessions for free and ask any question that they may have.

These Zoom sessions will cover a range of topics from discussing funeral arrangements with Lucy Porter from local funeral directors H. Porter & Sons to discussing what Dementia care is available for families, patients and carers who are seeking support, awareness and knowledge about Dementia care throughout the pandemic.

Esther Olivier, Social Worker and organiser of the sessions, Mary Stevens Hospice said: “This series is for anybody in the community that needs support, wants to be more aware of the services available to them and the different support groups that are available.

As information cannot be given in person at the moment, these sessions have been designed to provide this information when it is needed most, whilst adhering to lockdown rules.

These sessions also provide support for professionals in the caring professions who are experiencing moral injuries and secondary trauma through their work.”
