KEMP Hospice are inviting the Wyre Forest community to celebrate and remember loved ones this Valentine’s Day by releasing special virtual balloons into their Memory Sky.
The charity’s Memory Sky gives people the opportunity to come together in remembrance of their loved ones by writing special messages or recalling a fond memory, including a treasured photograph, and releasing a heart balloon into a beautiful blue virtual sky.
Coralie Hudson, Fundraiser at KEMP Hospice, said: “Our special Memory Sky offers a beautiful space to celebrate and remember those we are missing this Valentine’s Day. For many people, sending a balloon drifting gently upward into the sky can be meaningful way to signify thoughts, memories, and prayers for loved ones who are no longer with us. It can give a sense of letting go or sending loving thoughts.”
Like so many, the Wyre Forest Hospice continue to rethink how they can host their events virtually for the time being, in line with government guidelines. Their December virtual Light up a Life tree was so well received, that KEMP wished to offer another virtual way for their wider community to remember loved ones no longer in their lives at this time of year.
Coralie continued: “We know Valentine’s Day can be such a hard time when someone is missing from your life, so we hope that releasing a balloon and leaving a message of remembrance will help people find a sense of peace.”
Supporters donations means KEMP Hospice can continue to provide essential care to local people with life-limiting illnesses and bereavement counselling this spring and beyond.
