Local Hospice is pulling out all the stops for it’s annual Fayre!

The Mary Stevens Hospice are inviting their local community to Go Wild at their upcoming Summer Fayre!

Every year, The Mary Stevens Hospice host an annual Summer Fayre and this year’s theme is Go Wild! The day will see a jungle theme take over the Hospice grounds as supporters attend to support the Hospice for a day out filled with fun for the whole family!

Amongst attractions for the day will be an opening parade, which is sponsored by Ian Perks Estate Agents to officially open the Fayre. The Parade starts at the Crabmill Pub, travels through the streets of Oldswinford, making some noise and spreading carnival cheer to officially start the Summer Fayre at 11am.

The Summer Fayre will be opened by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Andrea Goddard and Deputy Consort, Councillor James Clinton. The main stage has been sponsored by Direct 2 Print and will feature live entertainment from X Factor’s Bradley Hunt, Mary Stevens Hospice Choir, Mick Brigdale, Entity Cheer and Ella Fisher, amongst other live performers. The host of the main stage for the day, will be Black Country Radio’s, Matt Dudley.

Amanda Bowen, Head of Fundraising and Lottery at The Mary Stevens Hospice said: “The hospices’ Summer Fayre has been one of our most traditional events for many years and we always look forward to welcoming our community to the grounds of the hospice. With so many local people attending, it has become so important to us, not only as it helps us to say thank you to those who support us, but because it raises much needed funds so that we can continue to provide our care, free of charge when it is needed.

This year’s theme of “Go Wild” will include many new attractions, that we hope will put a smile on the faces of all who come, whatever their age.”

During the day there will be plenty of activities to keep the little ones occupied; from a Princess and Superhero Danceilicilous Party, hosted by Funtime Theatre, Dino Discovery Sessions and Soccer Skills Sessions sponsored by Alloy Wire International. The Dinosaur theme continues across other activities on the day with a Dinosaur Dig and Jungle Soft Play.

The Hospice mean it when they say there is fun for the whole family at the Fayre, so make sure you bring your four-legged friends along on the day as at 3:30pm there will be a Dog Show, which is kindly sponsored by Black Vets.

If you’re feeling peckish, there will be a BBQ fired up all day, cakes and hot drinks and an Ice Cream Parlour. You can try your hand at the traditional games, including Hook a Duck and Tin Can Alley, see if you can stay on the longest on the Rodeo Bull or take a kick at the penalty shoot out. There will also be a variety of stalls for you to browse and explore on the day including: toy stall, animal display, face painting, glitter tattoos, bottle and toiletries tombolas, garden ornament stall, a Rodeo Bull and a Princess meet and greet, amongst lots of other stalls!

This event will be held on Saturday 3rd September in the grounds of The Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge: 221 Hagley Road, Oldswinford, DY8 2JR. The parade will start from the Crabmill Pub at 10:30am, officially opening the Fayre at 11am. There will be free parking available on the day on the site of the Hospice.
