Showhome set to open to launch 50-home development in Tamworth

Walton Homes will unveil a showhome this weekend as it launches a development of 50 high-specification new houses in Tamworth.

Further to completing demolition works at the 3.8-acre site in Warton last year, the Staffordshire-based developer began construction of the development in the spring, keen to meet the continuing demand for high quality housing across the region.

Amy Summerton, Director, said: “The past five years have seen us undertake a number of developments throughout Staffordshire, and those located close to Tamworth are always particularly well received, particularly because of the area’s commuter-belt location within a convenient distance of Birmingham and the wider Midlands network via the M42 and the M6 Toll.

“Ever since we announced our plans for Woodwinds a few months ago, we’ve had a high number of enquiries from interested potential buyers, which led to us deciding to coincide the launch of the development with the opening of a showhome to demonstrate the high specification that we pride ourselves on delivering within each of our homes.

“Located off the Little Warton Road, Woodwinds – named after the old windmill, which the village was famous for – will comprise of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties to suit a range of occupiers, be they young professionals, growing families or downsizers,” she added.

The development is expected to be completed in September 2024.

The development will launch on Saturday September 3rd, with the official opening of its showhome, The Danescroft, a luxurious two-bedroom bungalow with one en-suite bedroom, a large lounge/dining room with bay window and a well-proportioned kitchen with utility room, beautifully decorated and furnished to show the property’s full potential.

Amy said that prior to starting construction, the business carried out extensive market research, speaking to potential first-time buyers and home-owners looking to relocate, to identify their priorities in buying a new home. Key focuses were improved location, more space, and bigger gardens, and the business took each of these issues into consideration when siting the development and designing the house types.

The decision to include three two-bedroom bungalows, and open one as a showhome, was made to reflect the increasing desire for downsizing to semi-rural areas.

Walton Homes chose Warton for its latest site due to its idyllic location, which combines a peaceful village environment with the convenience of being just five miles away from the busy town of Tamworth with its extensive amenities, restaurants and retailers. The business previously sited its Hillcrest development in the village in 1999, a 24-home development located off Maypole Road.

Established over 40 years ago, the family run business has a strong reputation for delivering high-specification, individually designed family homes that combine practicality and style. Each property is sympathetically designed with the surrounding area in mind to ensure that it blends with the local environment, and all developments are sited with close consideration to local amenities and transport links.

The showhome and sales office will be open from 11am until 5pm on Saturday September 3rd,  and appointments can be made by calling the sales team on 01543 412288.
