Lemon and Lime Interiors has continued to strengthen its team with the appointment of two project leads and a sales administrator, as the demand for home staging services reaches an all-time high, with vendors looking to maximise their property sale stand out amid the UK’s hot housing market.
Abi Cowley is one of the three latest recruits, joining the team as a project lead. With a passion for interior design leading to her completing degrees in graphic and interior design, Abi spent seven years working at Derby-based interiors and furnishing store Hunters Furniture – where she developed her expertise in visual merchandising.
Abi said: “I was always interested in home staging and liked the idea of a career in the industry but thought that I needed a more specific background of education and experience to enter the profession.
“After becoming aware of Elaine’s work and being enthusiastic to use my interior design strengths to style property interiors in different ways, I reached out to Lemon and Lime and was thrilled when the opportunity to join the team and start my career in home staging became a reality.
“Similar to my previous role in retail but supporting vendors rather than suppliers, I employ a range of impactful styles when choosing furniture, furnishings, wall art and accents to create a scheme that fits the client’s brief and compliments the property to maximise its sale potential.
“Cottage core properties really appeal to me as a challenge to transform. Working on an existing canvas to compliment the quirks of the property and seeing the reaction of clients from the transformation is an incredibly rewarding experience.”
Experienced interior decorator Kelly Harland also joins as a project lead. Having been running her own business in Derby, she brings an expert eye of trending colours and design choices that best complement distinctive properties.
After a project in Lemon and Lime’s hometown of Melbourne, Derbyshire, Kelly saw the firm’s office and introduced herself to Elaine, finding out more about its expanding plans and was subsequently offered a role in the team.
Kelly said: “While I enjoy decorating, I wanted to become more involved with styling homes – which I would often find myself doing when offering advice to clients. As a project lead at Lemon and Lime I get to do just that; I organise and style properties and have a certain level of free reign to choose accents, artworks, and colour schemes that I see best fit.
“I look forward to testing my knowledge of learning and incorporating different unique interior styles – in particular how we can bring a contemporary twist to more traditional styles such as art deco in the homes we stage.”
Kaye Broadhurst joins as sales admin support to help with price lists, case studies, as well as dressing and staging. She is also involved in interior design projects, which includes creating mood boards and designing overall schemes for residential projects.
Following a background in customer service and visual merchandising while currently undertaking a high diploma with the British Academy of Interior Design, Kaye witnessed Lemon and Lime’s transformation expertise when viewing a staged cottage in Derbyshire.
Kaye said: “I was aware that staging properties was a method of property marketing but was unaware of the potential career opportunities. I’m excited to acquire skills across the business and am eager to be involved to grow my portfolio of projects, with ambitions to be involved with as many commercial and residential properties as possible.”
Elaine Penhaul, Founder of Lemon and Lime Interiors, said: “We are incredibly excited to have Abi, Kelly and Kaye join our team. We are constantly looking to grow our industry-leading firm, diversify our services and team member expertise, as well as deliver the best home staging services possible for our ever-expanding client base.”
