Birmingham’s Punks and Chancers have raised nearly £5000 from their ‘NO BAB’ merchandise range, with £5 from each sale going to SIFA Fireside who support homeless and vulnerably housed people all across Birmingham.
‘NO BAB’ t-shirts were launched in 2019 by Punks and Chancers’ Zoe Barry and Alex Claridge of The Wilderness restaurant with the premise that you can say ‘No’ to pet hates, things that you disagree with or things that are unacceptable.
As the £5000 milestone approaches, the campaign has been relaunched so a new list of ‘NO BAB’ can be created for 2022, while continuing to support Birmingham’s most vulnerable people.
Melissa Roche, the Fundraising, Communications and Volunteering Manager at SIFA Fireside commented: “The ‘NO BAB’ campaign has been brilliant for raising vital funds for SIFA Fireside at a time when we are seeing more clients at our Drop-In Centre in Digbeth. It’s also been great for bringing people together in Birmingham – we’re seeing fresh faces every week so the support from the community means a lot to us.”
Melissa continued; “In the original campaign in 2019, we received ‘No’s’ on homelessness, poverty and racism, but also on small talk, bananas and mini jam pots so it’s good fun to get involved with at the same time.”

The funds received will enable SIFA Fireside to continue supporting homeless and vulnerably housed adults in Birmingham through Prevention, Crisis and Recovery services. These services include supporting clients with housing applications, ongoing tenancy advice and improving employability prospects.
SIFA Fireside’s Drop-In Centre also ensures that essential daily needs are met by providing showers, clean clothes, food parcels and hot meals. To find out more about SIFA Fireside, including how you can support them, visit: https://sifafireside.co.uk/about-us/.
