Period Living celebrates 30th anniversary with its biggest-ever issue available at the same price

Britain’s fastest growing home title and best-selling period homes magazine, Bromsgrove-based Period Living, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special bumper April issue containing 30 extra pages and a Spring Living supplement for the same retail price of £4.45, available on the newsstands from 27 February.

To mark the occasion, Period Living’s latest edition will provide a total of 212 pages. This month’s spread will contain distinctive anniversary features including the editorial team’s favourite 10 houses over the years and content highlights from the last 30 years, providing an insightful view into how period interiors and homes have evolved during this period. Moreover, the edition will offer a free Spring Living magazine with decorating ideas, recipes, craft courses, ideas for outdoor living, and more.

All these initiatives follow the magazine’s decision earlier in the year to switch its subscriber packaging to paper-based wrapping, increasing its sustainability appeal by allowing the loyal consumers to have a plastic-free experience. The newsstand offering has also seen a further eco development, as the publication currently uses a recyclable plastic bag.

The brand is also gearing up to organise the debut of the Period Living Pavilion at this year’s London Homebuilding & Renovating Show, taking place from 25-27 September at ExCeL, London. The capital’s event will host a dedicated show area that reflects Period Living’s identity and ethos, bringing the publication to life by featuring experienced exhibitors from the period sector.

Melanie Griffiths, editor of Period Living, says, “Our team is thrilled to see the publication reach its 30th year in circulation and witness its incredible growth over the last two years, with more exciting opportunities to come. When looking back through the archives, we took great pride to notice that our constant focus since the very first issue has been to champion sustainability; at the beginning, due to its money-saving and repurposing benefits, while now this is reinforced by an environmentally-friendly drive.

“We live in times when people are more nostalgic and enjoy the opportunity to escape to a place that reminds them of a childhood memory, yet also times that offer them tools to be more attentive to our limited natural resources. As such, we hope our publication will continue to generate this emotion and provide people with the inspiration, advice, products and services needed to create their perfect habitat.”
