Local business charity raffle in aid of young people

Local West Midlands charity St Basil’s have partnered with Solihull organisation, Access Hardware to raise money for the aid of housing young people aged 16-25.

St Basil’s is a non-for-profit charity organisation helping young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Every year over 1500 young people are being housed by St Basil’s 39 supported accommodation schemes. Their aim is to provide these young people with a range of prevention, accommodation, support, employability and engagement services to enable young people to regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives.

Access Hardware, Solihull, are working to reach their goals of supporting and changing the lives of these young people, by raising money for St Basil’s. A £5000 target has been set over a 12-month period to raise money for the charity through a variety of events including our current charity raffle.

All prizes are from a stock of free gifts, including 2 pairs of Philips headphones, dining-wear, Tupperware (which is an office favourite) and a Nike backpack to name a few. Our raffle winners will be announced on Friday 6th March, with 11 prizes up for grabs. Luke Selibas, Business and Communities Executive from St Basil’s will be attending our draw and announcing the winners.

We have already hit 22% of our target in the first few months of this year, and we hope to continue raising money to reach our target throughout this year. Our support will continue where our staff will be attending the St Basil’s organised charity events, including the East Malvern Walk Challenge and Solihull’s Woof Run.

We will also be volunteering our time to provide young people with employability skills to help them regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives.

We hope to continue raising money for the excellent cause and St Basil’s charity in the foreseeable future and give back to our community.
