As the mounting costs of raising a family continues to cripple Brits, a new platform has launched set to save parents and parents-to-be thousands. Cubbi is on a mission to stretch family budgets further and change the conversation around money and parenthood, by offering exclusive, verified discounts from top brands tailored specifically for new and expecting parents.
With UK parents spending an average of £6,000 on essentials before their baby even arrives – and 40% struggling with reduced income during parental leave – the financial toll of parenthood has pushed families to breaking point. Combined with the rising cost of living and yet another spike in energy bills, parents are urgently searching for smart ways to get more for their money.
Cubbi is designed to be that solution. The first money-saving app built purposely for parents, Cubbi works like a student discount or Blue Light Card. Already attracting more than 12,000 app downloads, Cubbi has partnered with over 100 trusted UK brands, offering exclusive deals from the likes of Ocado, Cult Beauty and My 1st Years.
The brainchild of Olivia Davson, Cubbi was founded following her own experience as a new mum back in 2023. Juggling a newborn, the squeeze of maternity pay, and a never-ending shopping list of baby essentials – from travel systems and toys; to nappies and nursery furniture – Olivia found herself searching for solutions to stop spend spiralling. By trawling the internet for vouchers, referral codes, and loyalty schemes during 3am feeds, she managed to save over £1,000; but was left frustrated by the time and effort that had gone into it. Having failed to find the support system she needed, she was determined to create one herself.
Olivia explains: “I remember feeling so isolated, overlooked and unsupported. Not only were the costs eye-watering, but the sheer choice of products left me overwhelmed. Even the smallest purchases came with guilt. I wanted to create something that made families feel valued and seen – not just financially, but emotionally too.”
Together with her sister and co-founder, Tanyka, Olivia has now developed and debuted Cubbi as a free app and website for parents to use. To access it, users simply sign up, provide proof of eligibility – such as a birth certificate, MATB1 or SC3 form, or adoption certificate – and within 24 hours the Cubbi team verifies their account, unlocking exclusive discounts across baby, maternity, fashion, wellness, food, travel, leisure and more.
Olivia continues: “Cubbi isn’t just about saving money: it’s about recognising that parents need support too. In those early months, so much focus is on the baby, and that can mean parents – who are also navigating a huge life change – can feel forgotten. Cubbi is here to change that by putting parents’ wellbeing at the centre and helping make everyday life a little easier and more affordable.”
Cubbi is already making a difference for thousands of families across the UK. To find out more, follow @cubbi.uk on Instagram or visit the Cubbi website to keep up with the latest offers and updates from Olivia, Tanyka, and the Cubbi team.
