The PA Way, founded in 2018 by former Executive Assistant Skevi Constantinou, is marking seven years of high impact, generous growth and ongoing empowerment, transforming a once-overlooked and underappreciated profession into a movement, one that’s spreading worldwide.
After years in her profession Skevi began to realise that what she loved wasn’t being taken as seriously as it should be, after all, she became a support network, personal calendar and the go to for people around her, making their life inevitably easier, but where was her support?
One night, Skevi was woken up by a vivid dream that filled her with excitement, she quickly rushed to the internet to see if what she had dreamt up had already been created, and to her delight – it hadn’t.
That’s when the lightbulb moment hit, her mind illuminated by what she felt was her calling. She then began to teach herself how to build a website, an app, public speaking; everything you’d expect a budding business owner to do, all so she could create the community she had dreamed of.
This wasn’t easy though, as Skevi faced the same adversity that she had already had a taster of in her earlier career, but this time it had intensified. After launching The PA Way with a fresh new live website, Skevi was excited to celebrate and support the profession, however others weren’t so happy to find out she was changing the way assistants were treated.
She was told to “remove the website”, not once, but over, and over again. However, she didn’t falter, she knew that she had to keep pushing to level up the profession that she saw so much value in, to make a change and give the microphone to an industry that can so often be overlooked regardless of their dedication. She kept going, pushing forward with her vision to really make a change.
Working during breaks, pushing through late nights and weekends whilst working full-time as an Executive Assistant, The PA Way dream soon became reality, building the kind of community she wished had existed, one that gave a voice, gave recognition and real career support to administrative professionals – something Skevi didn’t see in the beginnings of her career. What started as an idea has evolved into a multi-award-winning membership that now connects assistants across multiple countries.
Since launch, Skevi has led the way with innovations for the profession, including the creation of the first-ever app for assistants and more recently, creating a brand new app experience, called AssistantHood, a dedicated social media networking built specifically for the community worldwide.
The PA Way’s events have sold out time and time again, from retreats in Cyprus, Thailand, Rhodes, Malta, Portugal and Gibraltar to award ceremonies that have welcomed over 300 guests from ten countries.
Alongside industry accolades, including an impressive 12 awards in under seven years and recognition as a Women in Tech finalist, The PA Way has pioneered to raise thousands for charities through its events and initiatives, proving that a community powered by a purpose can truly deliver meaningful change.
“The PA Way isn’t only a membership, it’s a movement to revolutionise the administrative profession,” says Skevi. “We’re here to level up our profession, elevate the game and give administrative professionals the community, connections and confidence to dominate their field. I am building new innovative and exciting things which are designed for administrative colleagues to own their power and transform their career. We’re about to level up!.”
