Staff from national HR consultancy Clover HR, which has its headquarters in Birmingham, have just taken part in the first ever Keith Baldwin Memorial Rally – a pan-European road trip for a former friend of the company who lost his life to Pancreatic Cancer.
The company proudly sponsored a car and took to the roads of Europe alongside a convoy of other adventurous teams.
All participants decorated their vehicles in bold and hilarious themes and dress up in matching costumes to raise as much awareness as possible.
Travelling across France, Luxemburg, Switzerland and Italy, over five thrilling days, the rally saw participants tackle daily challenges, cross dramatic landscapes and mountain passes, and drive through some of Europe’s most iconic destinations – all while raising money and awareness for a cause that desperately needs attention.
Michael Doolin, Managing Director of Clover HR, said: “When Keith’s son approached us, there was no hesitation. We believe in people helping people, and this rally is an amazing example of that. It was great fun, grueling at times and for a cause that is incredibly serious. Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates of all major cancers, and we need to do more to fight back.”
Greg Baldwin, who led the journey, said: “Organising the rally alongside Marc and the Highways Foundation has been an extremely rewarding experience, all in memory of my father. We covered thousands of miles, met some amazing people, and above all – we were doing it to help fund research into one of the most devastating cancers out there. I’m so grateful to Clover for backing a car and helping us with our fundraising.”
