Dinosaurs, adorable animals and football fun are all heading to Resorts World Birmingham this summer, as the destination unveils its full line-up of free activities to keep kids of all ages entertained throughout the school holiday
From the roaring Dino Fridays to an immersive petting zoo and an exciting football takeover with Solihull Moors, there’s plenty to see and do whatever the weather – with kids also eating for free at some of the centre’s best-loved restaurants.
Running every Friday from 25 July to 29 August, the ever-popular Dino Fridays are set for a roaring run with meet-and-greets from life-sized dinosaurs, fossil digs, ranger training, storytelling and more. With appearances from a towering T-Rex, a gentle Brontosaurus and colour-changing Stegosaurus Meg, families can look forward to a day of free prehistoric fun. The event runs from 10am to 4pm each Friday, with main entertainment taking place between 11am and 2.30pm.
New for this summer, a weekly petting zoo in the Atrium will give little ones the chance to get up close to upwards of 9 animals each week, including reptiles, creepy crawlies, exotic and domestic mammals, and birds of prey. The exact line-up will vary weekly, based on health and temperament checks on the day, making each visit a little different. Whether they’re stroking a scaly new friend or just watching from a safe distance, it’s a great way to introduce younger children to animals in a relaxed, controlled setting.
Sports fans can get involved too, as local favourites Solihull Moors FC arrive at Resorts World for a special one-day football challenge on Saturday 27th July. Budding footballers can take part in the Football Olympics, with 6 different stations set up with engaging football themed games, perfect for kids and parents alike – top scorers from across the weekend will have some exciting prizes to look forward to.
After all that excitement, families can enjoy a summer filled with dining deals across the centre, with kids eating free (T&C’s apply) at Pizza Express, Las Iguanas and TGI Fridays, The World Bar, Sky Bar & Restaurant and enjoying meals for just £1 at Hollywood Bowl for the entire six weeks holidays.
