Warrington’s Time Square will once again come alive on Sunday, June 1st from 12pm to 9pm as Proms in the Square returns for its third year.
The highly anticipated event, which marks the end of Warrington’s second Music Month, is expected to draw thousands of attendees from across the region for a day of outstanding live music, food, and entertainment – all completely free.
The third year of Proms in the Square is a significant moment for the town, cementing the event’s status as a key highlight in Warrington’s cultural calendar. The Untold Orchestra, who have been a crowd favourite at past events, will once again take the stage with their iconic “Icons” set, combining well-loved classics with exciting new tracks. For the first time, members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will also join the event, with their Wind Quintet performing twice during the afternoon.
In addition to the orchestra, attendees can look forward to Wickeder Than The Wicked, a West End tribute act, and Twisted Tubes, a brass group that is set to bring an electrifying performance. The Rock Choir, the UK’s original award-winning contemporary choir, will also add to the day’s diverse musical offerings.
The event is brought to the town by Warrington Borough Council (WBC), with Culture Warrington providing staffing.
Councillor Tony Higgins, Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Community, said: “The return of Proms in the Square for the third time is a big deal for all of us involved. With thousands of people expected to gather in Time Square, it’s exciting to see how this event continues to grow and provide an opportunity for the town to come together over music, food, and fun.”
Time Square, located in the heart of Warrington, has become a central hub for events like this, with a variety of food and drink options available from local businesses throughout the day. Warrington Market Bars will remain open until 10pm (with last orders at 9.30pm), and Pink Leaf will host a pop-up bar on the extended terrace outside their side of the market. Parking across the town is free on Sundays, making it easy for everyone to join in.
Proms in the Square 2025 is supported by Warrington Borough Council (WBC) and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
Councillor Higgins also added: “Proms in the Square has become one of the must-attend events in Warrington, and we’re excited once again to welcome visitors to Time Square for what promises to be a fantastic day of music and entertainment. Every year is special, but this year, there’s so much on offer with the line-up – I for one can’t wait!”
