Evelyn Health is launching LimeLight, a national campaign that runs from 20-30th April to bring Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) into the spotlight.
What is LimeLight?
LimeLight is a bold national effort to raise awareness of PMDD, spearheaded by Kristina Goodsell, known from Married at First Sight UK and a passionate advocate who has PMDD herself. The campaign encourages supporters to paint their ring fingernail lime green (or wear a LimeLight pin) – simple, yet powerful symbols, designed to spark conversations, break stigma, and make PMDD unignorable.

Why It Matters
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe, hormone-based mood disorder affecting 1 in 20 women and assigned female at birth. On average, diagnosis of PMDD takes a staggering 12 years. Often misdiagnosed or dismissed, PMDD can have a devastating impact on mental health, work, and relationships. Awareness is critical to ensuring better understanding, support, and treatment options. Companies like Evelyn exist to drive change, breaking the silence around PMDD and advocating for a future where no one suffers in isolation.
All profits from the campaign will go directly to The PMDD Project, a UK-registered charity. The organisation is dedicated to raising awareness, providing support, and funding research to ensure those affected receive the recognition and care they deserve.
Why Now?
PMDD is a critical unmet health need that has been overlooked for too long. Awareness is finally gaining momentum, with more individuals than ever seeking answers. In fact, “What is PMDD?” topped Google’s 2024 ‘What is’ search category, highlighting the surge in public interest and the urgent need for education and support.
April is also International PMDD Awareness Month, making this the perfect time to launch the LimeLight campaign and drive real change. Premenstrual symptoms are at their highest in the final 10 days of womens’ cycles, so the campaign focuses primarily on 20-30th April. By amplifying awareness now, we can ensure that those suffering from PMDD are no longer dismissed, misdiagnosed, or left to struggle in silence.
