Restaurant Sat Bains has been awarded the number one spot in SquareMeal‘s list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK for 2025. The restaurant with 7 bedrooms, which celebrated 25 years in 2024, has earned a name for its tasting menus and Sat’s highly technical and progressive culinary style.
Set in an unassuming position under an A52 flyover outside Nottingham, the restaurant earned its first and second Michelin stars in 2003 and 2011 respectively. Sat’s commitment to eliminating waste and preserving the environment was recognised with a coveted Green Michelin star in 2021. Sat has dedicated his career and his restaurant to flavour and the careful balance of ingredients. Every dish served by the team over the period has been a product of rigorous research, an ethos clearly impressed upon the numerous renowned chefs whom Sat is proud to have mentored.
