Manchester-based Green Bean Studios® has announced a 162% year-on-year growth in sales and secured inward investment in excess of £100,000 in the past 12 months as it targets national and international expansion.
The multi award-winning children’s IP entertainment brand has also continued to deliver grass roots impact, working with increasing numbers of schools, educational professionals, ambassadors and families looking to encourage a love of reading and learning through play amongst the youngest generation.
Anita Frost, founder of Green Bean Studios, said: “Reading for pleasure has hit an all time low, especially with the nation’s children, something which needs to change. Since our inception, we’ve been passionate about bringing joy to the early years through exciting storytelling, and to support more little ones to play, learn and go on fun outdoor adventures to help bring these stories to life.
This year has been a catalyst for delivering that much needed change at a very community-focused level.
“Our impact-led work within local communities, schools and libraries, which includes live storytime events and pop up shops right across the UK, is helping us to reach more children and families, all with the aim of inspiring a love of play and learning. Importantly, our work is also encouraging more reading for pleasure and creating more precious moments between young people and their care givers through books and sustainable toys.”
As well as revenue growth and investment, Green Bean Studios has welcomed a 34% increase in official ambassadors and stakeholders who have joined the brand’s ecosystem. The firm has also developed a multitude of strategic partnerships with local councils, educators and SEND leaders, all of which strengthens its ability to engage with and impact more children.
After winning multiple Innovate UK awards, Green Bean, the firm’s leading intellectual property, which is featured as a fictional animated character, is recognised for leading innovation within the RetailTech, EdTech and Tech for Good sectors, all of which support under 5s with school readiness.
Green Bean Studios recently won the KPMG Black Entrepreneurs Award, a programme which celebrates black heritage entrepreneurs in the UK, and provides a platform to market their businesses to a wider audience. As well as winning a £25,000 prize, Anita Frost and Green Bean Studios will be enrolled onto a bespoke, 12-month business acceleration programme designed to support fast growth in high potential start-ups.
Green Bean Studios was founded on Anita Frost’s 20+ years of child development and business experience and the team’s combined 30+ years of creative industry experience. Harnessing this expertise, the brand has grown to help children learn through play, love outdoor adventures, and nurture the world around them.
Green Bean Studios has built an innovative multi-revenue children’s brand, creating a range of collectable children’s books called Green Bean Collection, as well as eco toys, games and wholesome media content.
Sustainability is at the heart of Green Bean Studios’ mission, from its stories and fictional characters to its educational eco toys and music. Supporting children to play, learn and develop with confidence is another fundamental cornerstone to the firm; across its retail, music, and TV productions, elements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework are incorporated to support early years children in their education.
With the recent development of its first children’s music album, Time To Dance, Green Bean Studios aims to combat childhood obesity and protect children’s mental health.
