Hospice launches community survey

St Richard’s Hospice

A hospice is calling for the community to take part in a survey to help inform the future of its care.

St Richard’s Hospice has launched a community survey which seeks to find out what people know about hospice care and how they perceive its services.

The survey also asks respondents to share how they think the hospice could make its services more inclusive and accessible.

Debbie Westwood, Care Director at St Richard’s, said: “We’re in the process of assessing our services and looking at how we deliver our care into the future to meet a growing demand.

“As part of this, we want to understand what the people who live in Worcestershire know about our hospice care, how they would feel about accessing our services, and how we can be more inclusive to their diverse needs.

“The information gained through this survey will help shape the development of our care and services, and we are grateful to everyone who takes part.”

The deadline for survey responses is Friday, September 6.

St Richard’s Hospice is an independent charity offering free, expert care for adults with an illness that cannot be cured, and support for their loved ones and carers.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,100 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

It will cost in the region of £12m to run the hospice this year, which includes patient care and all the necessary support services.

St Richard’s relies on voluntary support, including from donations, gifts in Wills, retail and events for the majority of its income with the remainder funded by the NHS.
