Birmingham digital marketing agency shortlisted for industry award

A Birmingham-based digital marketing agency is delighted to announce its shortlisting for a prestigious industry award, recognising its achievements in delivering outstanding results for clients.

Founded in 2017, Avid Panda is renowned for its expertise in PR, SEO, PPC, Content Marketing, and Web Design. The team excels at driving results, solidifying its position as a leading agency in the UK digital marketing landscape.

The agency has been shortlisted for the Best Digital PR Low Budget Campaign of the Year award at the UK Digital PR Awards 2024. But this is not the only award the team have been shortlisted for this year. So far, the team has also been shortlisted by the PRCA DARE and Midlands Marketing Awards under the low-budget category.

Lance Honeghan, Senior PR Executive at Avid Panda, says, “Being shortlisted for multiple awards is a remarkable achievement, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our team. It highlights our track record of delivering exceptional results for our clients, regardless of budget constraints, and we are eager to continue raising the bar in digital marketing.”

Lance says that what sets the team apart is their human approach to PR, focusing on creating stories that people genuinely engage readers instead of paying for coverage.

“We specialise in crafting compelling narratives that not only captivate audiences but also strategically drive traffic to our clients’ websites through placements in high-authority publications,” Lance says.

“Our overarching goal is to consistently deliver a strong return on investment for our clients, showcasing the benefits of earning media coverage,” he adds.

The shortlisted campaign was for Puppies.co.uk, one of the UK’s largest dog marketplaces that advocates for responsible dog ownership and breeding.

The team was tasked with creating a compelling, data-driven PR campaign on a limited budget. Their objectives were to establish Puppies’ expertise in everything related to dogs, attract their target audience, and earn links from respected, high-quality publications to boost their organic performance.

Due to the limited budget, Lance knew that they could not use traditional methods of gathering data such as surveys. Instead, he relied on publicly available data to collect information and create engaging stories for both national and regional publications, initiating a number of important discussions among dog owners.

Amidst discussions on the proposed XL Bully ban, Lance identified a gap in coverage regarding the breed’s popularity post-ban. Using search data, he pinpointed hotspots across the UK and shared insights with key publications such as The Mirror and The Daily Express.

He closely monitored news updates related to the ban and positioned Puppies as a leading voice, providing commentary to the Daily Mail on their adherence to government guidelines. This reinforced Puppies’ dedication to responsible dog ownership and breeding.

Following the ban, outreach shifted towards emerging interest in other dog breeds with aggressive tendencies, predicting potential successors to the XL Bully. In addition to providing data, Lance crafted a statement for Puppies, stressing that while demand for ‘aggressive’ breeds was rising, these dogs and their owners should not face stigmatisation. Instead, the focus should be on socialisation and training. This statement resonated widely, appearing in various regional publications including Wales Online, Cornwall Live, Birmingham Mail, The Daily Record, The Coventry Telegraph, and others.
