Founded by Franz Fedra, Walter Christ and Wolfram Eisert the international online platforms offer a unique ‘One Stop Shop’ for collectors to search and shop online.
Their coding system is also unique, which enables collectors to find wanted items as soon as they are listed in one of their online auctions.
Working with leading auction houses and businesses from around the world, the platforms are the convincing concept in the collectibles market running several auctions simultaneously everyday. Alongside offering collectors the chance to immediately shop from tens of thousands collectible items.
The idea was created when three friends came together: Franz a successful philatelist and shop owner in Munich and Walter and Wolfram, both digital specialists. The trio saw a gap in the market for collectors to easily shop online from stamp dealers and auction houses all at one time AND – importantly – on one space. Philasearch.com worked so well that the team extended out into antiques and coins, ensuring these specialist markets were too represented by the big names within the business.
Founder, Franz Fedra comments: “We are often asked, what makes us so special. The main difference to other online sites is its usability. It is very much appreciated by dealers as well as collectors also due to our unique coding system. As soon as a collector writes into the search line, let’s say Newfoundland, every item that is listed in one of our many auctions will be found. This also works with postal topics or motives. Besides we have two different sorts of auctions. In our “normal” auctions you look at the lots, which are well-described and illustrated, then make an absentee bid on what you would like to buy, and wait to see if your bid is the highest. But my favorite is the really fascinating live auction, where you can join while it is on and have the thrill of bidding yourself, watching what is going on during the event. You can watch one, two or three auctions at once. Some of these live auctions floors even offer video broadcast. Fantastic! And the best: registering and participating does not come with any additional cost.”
Three upcoming auctions include:
13th – 15th May
34th Schlegel Berliner Auktionshaus including philately and numismatics
