Flexible Space Association host roundtable meeting to celebrate local industry success.

The Flexible Space Association hosted its Bristol roundtable on Thursday 25th April celebrating the fact that “tides have turned” for Bristol’s flexible space industry according to data from The Instant Group. According to the report, occupancy in the city centre has increased from 81% in Q1 2023 to 86% in Q1 2024, demonstrating the local industry’s upward trajectory.

Hosted at Desklodge’s newest addition to their Bristol presence Beacon Tower, round table guests were wowed by the unique Medieval-themed Banquet Hall Meeting Room. The event provided a great platform for all the attendees to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and celebrate the success of the local industry. In January Bristol Office Agency Society reported the Bristol office market saw its highest quarterly take-up for the year, along with the highest number of deals in any quarter since Q1 2022 showing the positive upwards trajectory for the local market.

The central location of the venue made it easily accessible for all participants. DeskLodge was named in The Times ‘Best Places to Work 2023’ and currently has two sites along the M4 corridor, one close to Bristol Temple Meads and one in central Reading. The business has its sights set on 20 locations by 2030.

Tom Ball, Founder of DeskLoge comments, “Bristol’s vibrant blend of creativity, innovation, and community spirit makes it the perfect place for the flexible office space industry to thrive.”

Following the meeting was a tour of Desklodge Beacon Tower led by Tom Ball, before the group took a short walk to Fora St Nicholas House. As one of a handful of Fora spaces outside of London, the building just on the corner of Bristol Bridge holds the distinct simplistic and modern style touches that come with the brand.

The group enjoyed the views from their rooftop terrace, offering impressive views of the city and explored the basement co-working and meetings rooms as a great utilisation of space in a smaller building.

The Flexible Space Association speaks on behalf of the industry, working to ensure it has the conditions needed to thrive. It provides information and support to its members and represents over 1000 locations across the UK.
