East Midlands demolition specialist AR Demolition has been shortlisted for a prestigious and major construction industry award.
In April, the business picked up two awards in the 2019 Construction News Specialists Awards finals, for Health, Safety & Wellbeing Excellence as well as Demolition Specialist of the Year.
Now the company, based in Carlton near Nuneaton, has been put forward into the shortlist of seven for the Outstanding Contribution to Construction category in the main Construction News Awards.
The winner will be announced at the finals dinner, held in London in July and attended by the UK’s biggest top tier contractors and construction firms.
Entrants to Outstanding Contribution to Construction category had to “provide evidence that the company is contributing to creating a better industry and striving to lead change through its work”.
AR Demolition is leading the way in the demolition industry through investment in people and training, creating a culture of diversity and attracting young talent into the industry.
It has invested significant funds into cutting-edge demolition machinery and dust-reducing equipment, as well as pioneering an innovative approach to aggregates recycling.
As a result, last November AR Demolition reported the best ever start to a financial year, with record turnover and profits in the first half of 2018.
In the six month period to July the company saw turnover rise by 54% compared to the same period in 2017, with year-on-year gross profit increasing by 18%.
Highlighted by judges as “a great example of a successful, growing specialist contractor”, AR Demolition was also praised for its “innovation, development and commitment” and its “great values”.
Richard Dolman is Managing Director of AR Demolition and has recently been elected as Vice-President of the Institute of Demolition Engineers.
