Throughout the next few months, everyone will have to limit their exposure to the outside world more and more due to the Coronavirus. And because of this, many are looking for ways to keep themselves entertained whilst in lockdown.

No matter if you have children, live with a partner or are alone, you might find that you’re stuck for inspiration as to how to keep yourself productive – especially if you’ve been furloughed or you’re feeling that the weekend is seeping into the week.

To help with this, here are four fun activities that you can do at home, either as a family or individually:

Hone Your DIY Skills

If you’ve been putting off painting your bedroom walls for months on end, now could be the time to get the paint and brushes out. Alternatively, if you’ve been looking for a DIY project, then this lockdown period could be the perfect opportunity to let your creativity shine.

Whether you want to tackle upcycling items of furniture, create an extraordinary pallet wall or add tiles to your kitchen, there are plenty of projects to choose from that will keep you busy as well as adding value to your home. Once lockdown has come to an end, you can then show off your efforts to your family and friends.

Get Gardening

Over the winter months, many people neglect their garden to the point that it’s completely overgrown. But whilst everyone is stuck at home, it gives you a chance to get out there and finally give it some TLC – especially as the weather is gradually starting to improve. No matter if you plant some seeds, mow the lawn or cut back the hedges, your garden will look wonderful and will make a welcoming area for your family to enjoy.

You could also get the kids involved in this, giving them something to do on the weekend whilst ensuring that they get plenty of fresh air.

Have a Game Night With Your Family

When was the last time that you all sat down together and played a good old fashioned game? If you can’t remember, then this is the time to get the old Monopoly, Articulate or Trivial Pursuit game out of the cupboard.

Keeping you all entertained for the evening, it gives the kids a break away from their phones and reconnects you as a family. An alternative to this is to plan a movie night with everyone in your household once a week with snacks to accompany it.

Raise Money For Charity

Although many people think that you can only do this through public fundraising events, you can also do this from the comfort of your home. Throughout this time, you could do fun fundraising activities with your family, from cutting your hair to fitness challenges.

No matter what charity you’re raising money from, whether it’s the ramadan charity appeal by GRT or another cause, it’s a wonderful thing to do during this time.
