A Wolverhampton logistics firm had a par-fect day when golfers swung into action to raise a superb £6,737 for the Alzheimer’s Society at its annual golf day.

The 14th annual Pallet-Track golf day took place at Morley Hayes Golf Club in Derbyshire in June, with 56 keen golfers competing in 15 teams.

The teams were invited from Pallet-Track’s headquarters, the pallet network’s members and its partner organisations.

In a close competition, top spot on the day was taken by The Aztek Hackers, from Aztec Logistics, made up of team members Stuart Charter, Duncan Pannell, Dean Kempson and Matt Aylott.

Runners-up this year, after clinching victory in 2018, were The Dream Team, from Interhaul Pallet Services, and golfers Mark Waite, Dean Sargent, Stan Devonish and Paul Dare.

The winners and runners-up both had the same score, 89, but The Aztek Hackers clinched the title because of a better score on the back 9.

Nigel Parkes, Pallet-Track founder and Managing Director, said: “Once again, we all enjoyed the most amazing fundraising golf day and it was such an exciting, close-fought competition.

“We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to the event to make it such a success.

“All our members and suppliers coming together to raise thousands of pounds for Alzheimer’s Society, our nominated charity for 2019, is such an amazing thing.

“It is a wonderful charity which gives so much support and does amazing research. We look forward to raising even more money for them throughout the rest of 2019.”

Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia.
