1 Mill Street proving it’s not just a pretty face

Nigel Shanahan, Co-Founder of 1 Mill Street at the launch event

Leamington based coworking space, 1 Mill Street, has just launched two game-changing services in collaboration with Warwickshire County Council and University of Warwick.

The two trailblazing services called ‘Movers and Shakers’ and ‘The Mill Street Exchange’ are initiatives designed to connect local businesses, freelancers, and entrepreneurs both physically and digitally.

Movers and Shakers is a digital directory where local businesses, freelancers and entrepreneurs can list their services and advertise exclusive offers for free. Also listed on the directory are thirty ‘Mentors’ handpicked by 1 Mill Street founder Nigel Shanahan.

“I’m proud to say, as well as launching Movers and Shakers, we’ve also recruited some of Warwickshire’s most experienced and successful entrepreneurs, business owners and industry leaders. These Mentors have come onboard to offer business advice and support to not only our membership but also to the wider business community of Leamington, volunteering their time for free.” Nigel said.

Also launched on the same night was The Mill Street Exchange. An exciting new project which offers businesses the chance to chat about their ambitions or challenges alongside the opportunity to be plugged in to expert advice and local support programmes. Enabling businesses to create opportunities, make connections, and expand their network whilst receiving expert, tailored support.

The aim of The Exchange is to make local services already available more accessible and easier to understand.

“There are lots of grants, funding, local business advice and support programs available. The applications can be time consuming and confusing. So, we came up with The Mill Street Exchange. A manned, drop-in point at 1 Mill Street, where we’ll signpost you to the resources, funding and grants relevant to your business.”

Every Thursday, 10am-4pm, businesses can drop into The Mill Street Exchange which will be based in their coffeehouse on the ground floor.
