Young entrepreneurs sweeten school fund with chocolate challenge success

In a delicious twist to their Preparing for Adulthood lessons, ten enterprising students at Wilson Stuart in Birmingham, set up their own chocolate challenge business enterprise.

From planning and purchasing to production and marketing, these students embraced the entrepreneurial spirit.

The aspiring chocolatiers reached out to industry giant Cadbury, whose generous support supplied approximately £150 worth of chocolate, a crucial boost for their budding venture. The students showcased their delectable creations at the school’s Christmas Fayre and during the annual Christmas shows, turning their newfound skills into a sweet success.

Tom Elmes (Associate Head of Secondary) explained that ‘the chocolate challenge not only satisfied sweet cravings but also nurtured essential life skills. From teamwork and planning to marketing and sales, these students gained valuable insights into the world of business and enhanced their confidence and communication skills.’

Their efforts resulted in a commendable profit of £105, which will go back into the school fund. The money will support school resources and future Preparing for Adulthood projects, ensuring a legacy of learning and innovation at Wilson Stuart. The chocolate challenge not only filled the air with festive cheer but also left a lasting impression on the students, proving that education can be both enriching and delicious.
