A leading office furniture and workspace solutions provider has reached out to support a dedicated homeless charity in Northampton with over £1,000 worth of supplies.

This heartfelt contribution of much-needed carpet tiles underscores Verve Workspace Ltd’s commitment to local communities and its passion for addressing the pressing issue of homelessness.

The decision to make this generous donation to the Northampton Hope Centre came about when Managing Director Steve Allan noticed an appeal posted on the charity’s Facebook page, seeking assistance. In response to this call for help, he was eager to step up and provide support.

Steve explained: “As someone who once faced the daunting challenges of homelessness during my teenage years, I can relate to the hardships endured by those without a place to call home.

“This experience profoundly impacted my life, instilling in me an enduring sense of empathy and the importance of extending a helping hand to those less fortunate. Our donation to Northampton Hope Centre is not just an act of philanthropy but a deeply personal commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those struggling with homelessness.

“Together, we can provide the essential support and resources needed to restore hope and dignity to these individuals and through this donation we are supporting the fantastic efforts of The Hope Centre to do this.”

The donated carpet tiles have an estimated value of approximately £1,100 and will be used as part of the Hope Centre’s plans to expand their premises.

The significant contribution showcases Verve Workspace’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

In July the Northampton-based company joined forces with carpet tile manufacturers Milliken, Interface, Tarkett, Ege and Modulyss as well as Uplyfted, a UK-wide supply and fit service of like-new carpet tiles tailored to providers of social housing, to collect used carpet tiles from commercial projects and reuse them for social housing and other community initiatives.

Kyra Williams, marketing manager at Northampton Hope Centre, expressed gratitude for the support from Verve Workspace, saying: “Our fundraising team and housing for living team are in need of extra space to hold counselling sessions in private. The demand has risen dramatically so to accommodate this we are converting an upstairs storage space, which currently has concrete floors.

“Steve’s generous donation of new carpet tiles will cover the whole floor space and will enhance the environment at the Hope Centre creating a more comfortable and welcoming space for those seeking assistance. We hope to get started this week, as soon as our volunteers can help.”
