Unique Riverside Homes now under construction in popular Warwickshire Village

Welford Street Scene Plots 12-15

Planning permission has been granted for a new gated riverside development of 24 executive homes on the former Binton railway station site in Welford-on-Avon.

The sensitive regeneration of this previously developed site includes the restoration of the historic station house into a two-bedroom stone-built bungalow and the preservation of local woodland. The unique homes will take design inspiration from the local area and feature traditional materials and finishes including brick and render elevations and timber window and doors.

Nine of the homes will be offered exclusively to local people at 60% of their open market value (subject to terms and conditions).

Situated off Evesham Road, the new development, named Avon View, will feature an attractive collection of one to five-bedroom homes. The development’s enviable location benefits from beautiful open meadowland to the south and attractive views over the river, the marina and the village.

A thoughtful layout ensures that the homes are well positioned to make the most of the impressive vistas, with many featuring open-plan living spaces to the rear and balconies to many of the bedrooms.

Duchy Homes is an award-winning homebuilder with a strong reputation for building luxury properties in premium locations across Yorkshire, the North East and the North West. Avon View will be its first development to launch from the Midlands region, headed up by managing director Steve Hird.

He comments: “We are extremely proud that our first development is here in the picturesque village of Welford and that we are able to transform an historic brownfield site into a thriving new community for many generations to come. As well as providing high quality executive homes in keeping with the village, we are also offering low-cost homes for local people and contributing nearly £120,000 to local education provision.

“Avon View will set the standard for future Duchy Homes developments in the Midlands and showcase both the quality of design and build and the sensitive approach to development that both purchasers and local communities can expect.”

Welford Street Scene Plots 19-24

Welford-on-Avon enjoys a good range of local amenities including its own village shop, a butcher’s, two pubs, a golf course, and an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-rated junior and infant school. Welford is located less than six miles from Stratford-upon-Avon and is within easy reach of the M40, making it an ideal base for commuters.

Binton railway station was in operation from the mid-1880s until 1949. It continued as a goods line until 1960 before becoming a depot.

The first homes at Avon View will be released for sale early in May, with first completions expected in the autumn. You can register your interest online now at: www.duchyhomes.co.uk/welford-on-avon.
