Types of boilers and boiler cover

If you are unable to decide whether to hire an emergency engineer or choose a boiler cover for your home boiler then you need to know about boilers and boiler covers because boiler cover providers  consider many things while setting the premium of the cover. For example, they consider not only the age of the boiler but also the manufacturer and usage of the boiler.

Boilers can be oil-fired boilers and gas boilers as far as fueling is concerned. There are the following 2 types of boilers.

  1. Conventional boilers

Conventional boilers are the traditional boilers and are also called regular boilers. These boilers are fitted with 2 storage tanks, one for hot and one for cold water. The boiler is connected with the main supply of water. Cold water enters the boiler and is stored in the cold water tank.  Inside the boiler, heat exchangers are present. These heat exchangers start to warm the water when the boiler is on.   The hot water is pushed into the hot water tank by a pump. This hot water moves in the radiator when the thermostat is set. This emits heat to warm your room. Hot water is also pushed into the pipes that supply hot water in the kitchen and bathrooms.

2. Combination boilers

Combination boilers are also called combi boilers. These are not only water heaters but also central heating units. Combi boilers offer room heating and hot water without installing a separate water tank. These boilers are multiple purposes and compact as compared to other central heating units. These boilers are gaining popularity in the UK because they require less space to install.  These are economical because they heat water on demand.

Problems in the boiler or water heating systems

These boilers are installed to get your house warm in the cold seasons and hot water. When these boilers are used, faults within the boilers or water heating system may arise putting you under immense stress and tension. These faults ultimately result in cool rooms or houses and cold water in the kitchen and bathrooms. There is a possibility that you may be able to solve this problem by yourself but generally not recommended because of complexities in the boilers and water heating systems.

Boiler cover

One option to remove fault in the boilers and water heating system is to get the services of an emergency engineer. This option can prove to be expensive and time-consuming. These engineers charge heavy amounts for their services. In addition, you have to buy some parts if needed. This whole game becomes expensive.

Another option is to get a boiler cover that is economical, time-saving, and hassle-free. There are different levels of boiler cover plans starting from lowest premium to highest. The lowest premium offers only boiler cover and annual checkup and maintenance but the next level will cover the boiler, water heating system, and annual maintenance and services. The highest level of cover provides some value-added services along with coverage of the boiler, water heating system, and annual maintenance and services. These value-added services can be plumbing, electrics, drain opening, etc. You can get more information about boiler cover online.
