Triple celebration for Penguin PR as award shortlist is revealed

Penguin PR’s Kerry Ganly presented with an award as a thank you for helping people in Derby during covid

A leading Derby PR company has been given a reason to celebrate after being shortlisted for three top business awards.

Penguin PR, based in Duffield Road, has been nominated in the Business Masters Awards and the East Midlands Chamber Awards to the delight of directors Sarah Newton and Simon Burch.

The company is competing for the Community Impact award in the Business Masters Awards, which is run by the BusinessDesk.com.

In the Derbyshire Business Awards, by the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, it is up for two awards – in the Education and Business Partnership category and for the Community Impact award.

Simon said: “We are a small company with a big heart so it’s nice to be nominated for the community work we do alongside our day jobs!

“Every member of our team can give up a day a month to volunteer for a good cause and what’s been great is that many of them have used that time to help the many charity endeavours of our clients.

“That helps them and us because volunteering is good for wellbeing, while we have also invested in a low carbon website and planted trees for each member of staff in lieu of Christmas cards.”

Penguin PR was co-founded by Sarah and Simon in 2010 after 15 years’ experience working in the newspaper industry.

The team is made up of former journalists, with work featured in local and national newspapers, magazines and websites as well as television appearances.
