Last year’s event, which saw a keynote speech from TV presenter Kate Humble, was attended by more than 400 delegates with 100 businesses involved. This year’s Expo will see exhibitors, speakers, workshops as well as climate roundtables to discuss key issues and solutions.

Adam Whitehouse, Founder and Chair of TMT First and the event sponsor said: “Sustainability is at the very core of what we do. Keeping technology alive for longer is our biggest focus so we were delighted to sponsor this year’s Midlands Climate Expo at Keele Hall. The only way to help tackle the climate crisis, we are all facing, is for everyone to pull together. Businesses have a key part to play in this, which is why the Expo is so important. It brings together organisations to learn from each other and discuss how we can collaborate to become more sustainable and reduce the carbon footprint across the local economy and beyond. Last year’s event was brilliant – we learnt lots and made some fantastic connections – this year will be even bigger and better, and we are extremely proud to be supporting it.”

The Globe Group Director, Kate Copeland said: “We believe partnerships will be the best way to solve Climate Change. We also see some of the most impactful solutions coming from non-traditional collaborations with different sectors come together to solve a common problem. This event provides the perfect incubator for those conversations to take place as we have such broad attendance, from private, public and third sector organisations. There is a significant difference we can all make if we can just learn to join the dots!  It is also wonderful to have the support of our sponsors Keele University and TMT First, who are supporting the event for a second year. Both organisations are helping to tackle the climate agenda and we are proud to be working with them.”

The Globe Group CIC is established to support communities and businesses through this transitional time, building climate resilience, skills and activities to make communities more robust and futureproof the systems that support them. They run a range of programmes from a zero-waste shop, repair room and provide advice and support to communities and businesses on environmental issues.
